its a matter of preference.

personally, i think one of the main reasons is creating characters you KNOW are incredibly powerful, but the author holds off on revealing the full extent of their power and abilities till later on.

theres also alot of plot twists as well

I am a fan of both but love one piece more. But Bleach has the better way of illustrating the anime than one piece you know why. And still, they are on the same category so if it's comparing it's body<story>, i am with One Piece but with the skin<graphics> Bleach was absolutely better than One Piece.
