Sasuke told karin that he is gay only to stop her from distracting him. Because if this was serious they would have given a hint in the anime, bcz this is some serious character development even if it sucks. But it was only a joke and to stop her from distracting him.

that's easy. his bestfriend is Naruto and he said it himself. You may not have realize this yet but sasuke only concern is to protect Naruto. That is why he wanted to get stronger and went after Itachi. Remember Sasuke has two faces one for everyone and one for Naruto. He knows that he makes naruto stronger by running away from him.
