that used to be so.. but now sometimes they fill the anime episode with fillers if there is not enough material to cover it with manga.. like when Sasuke was recruiting members to team hawk... In manga there was no back story to Juugo, Karin and Suigetsu.

We know that pretty much for a fact, we will get through Itachi Vs. Sasuke without a filler. After that, it's to uncertain. I really hope it will go all the way through the first Killer Bee fight before we see more fillers, but that is wishful thinking.
